Dealing with Your Dental Anxiety

Not everyone is comfortable with a visit to the dentist. Some people may feel uneasy or anxious as they day of their appointment gets closer. However, some people have a full-blown fear of the dental chair. That fear can be based on a number of things. Some people don’t like having another person’s hands in their mouths, or may be uncomfortable with the dentist or hygienist being so close.

Some people feel like they lose control when they sit in the dentist’s chair. Some people may have had a bad experience with the dentist in the past, while others may just be embarrassed about the condition of their mouth and teeth. Whatever your reason, if you avoid going to the dentist, you run the risk of tooth decay, gum disease and other problems.
